The Jade Wrasse is a striking marine fish that brings beautiful green hues and lively behaviour to your saltwater aquarium. Sometimes also called the Pastel Green Wrasse or Green Wrasse, this species features a soft green body with subtle patterning that adds colour and motion to reef or community tank displays.
Description:
The Jade Wrasse is known for its attractive green coloration and slender, elegant form, making it a visually appealing addition to medium-to-large aquariums. It’s a moderately peaceful species that is best kept in a well-established system with plenty of rockwork and a fine sand bed — this allows it to display natural behaviours like burrowing at night or when startled.
Key Features:
- Beautiful jade/green body colour that stands out in the tank.
- Active and engaging swimmer that explores both open water and substrate.
- Generally peaceful with other fish but may eat small invertebrates — reef-safe with caution.
- Appreciates a deep sand bed and plenty of hiding opportunities.
Care Level: Intermediate — best for hobbyists with some marine experience.
Diet: Carnivore — thrives on a mix of enriched frozen foods like mysis and brine shrimp.
Minimum Tank Size: ~75 + gallons (280 + L) with room to swim and burrow.
