Goniopora Coral (Flowerpot Coral)

Goniopora, commonly known as the Flowerpot Coral, is a striking large-polyp stony (LPS) coral admired for its long, flowing tentacles and delicate, flower-like appearance. When fully extended, each polyp sways gracefully in the current, creating constant movement and visual interest in reef aquariums.

This coral comes in a variety of vibrant colors, including shades of green, pink, red, and purple, making it a beautiful centerpiece or accent coral. Goniopora prefers moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow, which allows its polyps to extend fully without damage.

While once considered challenging, many modern aquacultured Goniopora varieties are now more resilient and adaptable. Regular feedings of fine planktonic foods or coral supplements can support long-term health and growth.
